Did anyone create the mysterious Bimini Road? (1)

Bimini Road, located in the Bahamas, is an underwater rock formation that stretches for about half a mile along the shallow waters of Bimini's western shore. Ever since its discovery in 1968, it has been speculated that this particular underwater road could be the road to the Lost City of Atlantis.

Could it be?

For the curious minds out there, Atlantis was a legendary city that once existed in ancient times. The city is more of myth than a historical fact. According to the Greek philosopher Plato, Atlantis was a powerful and advanced civilisation that existed around 9,000 years before his own time, making it roughly 11,600 years ago from today.

Atlantis was portrayed as a technologically advanced society with impressive architecture, engineering, and a highly organised political structure. And then the city submerged. Believe it or not, many researchers are still trying to determine Atlantis’ location.

Coming back to Bimini, at the moment, what we are sure of is that Bimini Road is a geological formation consisting of rectangular limestone blocks. The entire structure is submerged off the coast of Bimini Island in the Bahamas.

Back in 1968, a team of three underwater archaeologists – Joseph Manson Valentine, Jacques Mayol – came upon a series of limestone blocks laid out in a linear pattern, resembling a paved road. Later, this formation was named as Bimini Road.

When you look at the limestone blocks, they all seem man-made. But, where are the chisel marks? The absence of any marks caused by tools have led several researchers to believe that this formation could be a natural one. But how exactly?

How, if at all natural, do you explain the perfect positioning of these blocks? This, nobody knows.

A lot of these blocks are rectangular in shape and are estimated to weigh several tons each. They are situated in a north-south direction. These seemingly man-made structures, as per researchers, could very well be a natural result of weathering and erosion. Geological processes over the years could have fractured these blocks.

But then, there is nothing to prove this theory as well.
