Enjoy! Inspect every nook and cranny and check for any panel defects because Asus's exchange policy for a NEW panel (versus a refurb) is very strict. After 30-days, all bets are off and you are eligible for a "certified refurbished" replacement vs. another new one should you spot some issues late.

I picked it up on Sunday. Panel is flawless. Haven't noticed or seen any issues. I also don't trust Asus' warranties with their well-known garbage customer service so I got the 3 year warranty through MicroCenter so anything happens to it including burn-in, they give me a new one no questions asked.

u/CryptographerNo4507d ago
You got it at MicroCenter? Then you're all good! They're awesome! You're in good hands.

u/SQL2157d ago
Yeah, man. MC is heaven on earth. I buy all my stuff there when I can. Lucky enough I have one just 30 minutes from me. I wish everyone was blessed enough to have one available to them.

1 hour away through city traffic but WORTH IT

Yeah, as far as I'm told is great, a shame in Europe we don't have any equivalent

Just picked up Gigabytes version (FO32U2P) of your monitor last night also through Microcenter! It's beautiful over here.
6
u/isharamet7d ago
But it's QD-OLED, right? Because UCDP has WOLED panel.
4
u/SQL2157d ago
Correct. Yours is QD OLED. The UCDM model of my monitor is the version closest to yours.
2
u/hellatrocity7d ago
Yeah, that's my bad! They supposedly had the UCDM out for display at my Microcenter and couldn't get that model out of my head. lol
2
u/SQL2157d ago
Awesome! I was looking at that one as well. Especially having legit DP 2.1 ports. Enjoy it!

u/NorCalJason757d ago
Keep the box! My Asus OLED went bad after a few months. It was a total PITA to rectify.
3
u/SQL2157d ago
Don't worry. I'm keeping the box. Need it to store the stand and extras I don't need. I have it on a monitor mount. I also got the 3 year MicroCenter warranty since that's where I bought it from so I'm fully covered for the next three years. They said if anything goes wrong including burn-in, I don't even need the box. Just bring it back and they'll give me a new one or a gift card for the amount I paid to get something else no questions asked.

Nice! Good luck with the panel!

Just got mine from Best Buy too! You doing anything in particular in terms of settings/care?

u/SQL2156d agoedited 6d ago
I’ll be using it for work as well so I’ll likely be running the cleaner at least once a month. Also set my taskbar to auto hide, but I hate it so not sure I’ll stick with it. Other than that just set the screen to completely turn off after a few minutes idle.

u/MarginalBenefitASUS PG32UCDP | LG OLED65C2PUA6d ago
I set mine to hide too. I also got Translucent Taskbar running too. I also got wallpaper engine going too. Gonna spend a lot more time over the coming days messing with settings , but so far I haven't had any issues with it.

Dang no weird flex glossy fanboy hate for buying a WOLED yet. Congrats!! Enjoy that beauty
2
u/SQL2157d ago
Thanks. Lol. Let them complain all they want. I'm team matte forever. This sh*t is beautiful and zero glare.
3
u/coleavenue7d ago
I'm fine with team matte but boy is team ASUS a questionable choice these days. They f*cked me last year but hopefully you'll have better luck.

u/SQL2157d ago
I bought a warranty through MicroCenter so I’m fully covered the next 3 years. As sh*tty as Asus has been, I’ve been using their products for like 20 years and never had a single issue once. My second monitor is a 1080p TN panel. I’ve been using this thing for like 5 or 6 years straight and still works as well as the day I got it.

u/Goldeneye902107d ago
Its very regional. I have nothing but amazing things to say about ASUS Canada warranty. I have RMA’d monitors, motherboards and GPUs. You can even drive to their headquarters to drop off and pickup items without dealing with shipping.

u/Madness113377d ago
What price ?
4
u/SQL2157d ago
Got it for MSRP at my local MicroCenter. $1300

u/lolday01067d ago
I’m confused, what’s the difference between this one and the UCDM?
5
u/SQL2157d ago
UCDM is a QD-OLED panel at 4k 240Hz with a gloss coating. This one (UCDP) is a WOLED panel at 4k 240Hz, but also has a secondary mode to run at 1080p 480Hz for competitive gaming with a matte coating.

u/bronce327d ago
Congrats, Im looking into buying this monitor too. Does the chin at with the logo at the bottom of the monitor bother you at all? Also, hows the matte finish?
1
u/SQL2157d ago
The logo lit up surprisingly doesn't bother me at all. Kinda fades away in your vision. I never even notice it. You can turn it completely off though in the settings if it bothers you. I love the matte finish. One of the reasons I went with this one over the UCDM with the QD panel.
1
u/blorgenheim6d ago
Thankfully you can turn the light off on the chin so it’s pretty easy to ignore.

Ooh nice, there's an open box LG UG 27inch at my local bestbuy for 500 that i'm considering a bit

Bought the Asus 3 days ago. What a beast, lets hope it lasts some time

u/Richard_Bunzinator77d ago
I just got this same monitor yesterday. It looks great so far.
1
u/gimpinmypants7d ago
Congrats. I got this same monitor three weeks ago. It's a beauty right out of the box. I'm still having trouble calibrating the HDR, though. It looks too dark and washed out. It looks amazing with HDR turned off.
1
u/Mastotron6d ago
Struggling with HDR on mine as well.
1
u/lolday01066d ago
That’s basically an issue with all asus monitors. I have the 27AQDM and hdr is terrible. They said they would come out with a patch to fix it, but the patch pretty much did nothing. Don’t get your hopes up. Love the OLED but hate the HDR.

Just got mines from Microcenter this month. In the process of send it back as it had a bad dent in the top. Check my latest post. Luckily its still in the return window of 30 days.
They didnt tell me about that 3 year warranty you talked about though. Is that something you buy extra. I know it comes with the already three year from asus.
Enjoy your screen man. Guess ill have to wait some more to enjoy another one.
1
u/SQL2156d ago
That sucks. Good luck getting a replacement. Yeah. It was extra for the warranty through them. The guy asked me if I wanted it when I was checking out. Think it was like $250 for 3 years full coverage including burn-in. They had a cheaper 2 year one as well. With Asus’ recent issues with warranty claims, I figured it was worth it.
2
u/J_3456d ago
Thanks for the info id definitely be interested in getting that three year especially after this experience and microcenter seems to very good at “bring it back we will sort it” so they have me as a forever customer now. Always heard good things about them but haven’t experienced since they’re stores or so spread out in the U.S and i’m mostly in florida so closet store was GA until now! So glad i can take a weekend flight out to miami now and get computer parts 🙌🏽

Mind sharing your settings?

I have the LG - amazing display.

u/Mastotron6d ago
Just got mine today. Coming from an AW3423DW and struggling with color and HDR. It doesn’t look great. Also, frame gen on Diablo IV is a stutter fest, super smooth prior to swapping monitors. Any experience/suggestions would be appreciated!
1
u/SQL2156d ago
What is your current PC build specs? Seems like it may just not be powerful enough to run 4k.
1
u/Mastotron6d ago
12900k/4090
1
u/SQL2156d ago
Turn off frame gen and DLSS. There should be zero need for any of that with a 4090. Upscaling and frame gen is generally for lower end builds. Running natively will always work best. See what it’s like turning all that nonsense off. Also, make sure you set 240Hz in advanced display settings in windows. Maybe you’re not actually running at full frame rate?
1
u/Mastotron6d ago
Appreciate the suggestions, tried native along with the usual troubleshooting. I think D4's framegen is still borked, plenty of other games working just fine.

u/REmaster19896d ago
Did you happen to find "optimal" settings for yourself??
1
u/SQL2156d ago
I’m just running the racing setting which seemed to be default preset and just set the brightness to 90 and it looks great.
1
u/REmaster19896d ago
I got this yesterday and I liked racing mode but it just seemed a bit dim ( maybe it's my environment). So I started using the True black 400 HDR setting and I've noticed a big difference. Especially after the update.
1
u/SQL2156d ago
Update? Which update? Is there new firmware I haven’t seen yet? I also haven’t tried the 400HDR setting yet. I should give it a shot.
2
u/REmaster19896d ago
Yea I don't remember what it was exactly, but I assume if you haven't don't it, it's still there to be done. Helps with HDR performance

Have you used the 1080p 480hz mode? What do you think of it. I really want one of these for work and competitive.
1
u/SQL2153d ago
Yeah. I use it when I play Overwatch. Works great. Buttery smooth.

Treat OLEDs like a CRT, turn off the monitor when you are not using it, and do not leave a static image up for too long. I do it on my monitor as a precaution.
2
u/Regulus7136d ago
the only reason I can't approach OLEDs.
I keep my IPS monitor running for days and often times on a static image (I literally go back to sleep at night on a static image) and I know that kind of abuse would break my OLED so fast.
1
u/adamchevy6d ago
I have one of those 16” Innocn 4k Oleds that I game on if I want some Oled in my life. I’ve had a 60” Panasonic plasma for years and I get tired of having to make sure everybody always turns it off when they aren’t using it. I went with a UQXR for this reason instead of an Oled. The HDR is a beautiful thing.
1
u/No-Situation-78125d ago
Why do you keep your monitor running for days ? Work related ? If not, seems like a waste of electricity.
1
u/Regulus7135d ago
electricity is practically free and its mostly for crypto trading.
1
u/reddituser41564d ago
Practically free lol, maybe in the US.
